Where is my Prince?
My sweet solace?
The Lover, of my dreams?
He has left me
rejected
on this bitter, salted shore
My heart broken
pieces shattered
strewn across the milky way.
Black holes
absorbing all light to my soul.
In this darkness
my restless spirit
calls out to him
only to be answered
by silence.
Yet my heart
still holds him dear
keeping a place for him
and in it's loving faithfulness
certain of his return.
My mind
divided
wanting to
erect barriers
covering myself
in layers
to protect the soft centre
that is me.
While the other half
loves with abandon.
All doors, windows
open to him
no heeding of sorrow
waiting in the wings
like some greedy relation.
But the heart knows best
for who should come
knocking
at the door
tis my Prince of Dreams
come back to me
from his sun stroked beauty seeking wandering
and battles of profit.
To tell me tales of rare courage
and delights.
