The Dark Rose
by Sander A. M. de Jong
When time gets caught within the moment
and stones cave in within their tide
in silence matter ceases.
Will we still within our minds reside,
or is that too much pride?
I turn you round to look into your eye,
your name a sparkle on a woman's face
that chains you to a world of mind
in thought the dark rose from within
the human grace, that will remain.
And though I know that you exist,
your fire never sleeps within the faces
of those true souls that do persist
in breaking up the emptiness of time
my life will be a
crime...
