Ebb & Flow
by Gin Smith
your lips find me
and I am lost
undone again
putty in your hands
that meld me
to my desire
that know me better
than I know myself...
I want to remember
this, I want to remember
everything
every touch
every taste
every smell
every moment
with you
to know that one day
when I am old and
my body no longer craves
your physical elixir
that my soul
will still demand it
that I will think of you and
have my heart race
as it does now
each time you tempt me
each time you touch me
each time you offer me
your cup and I drink
without hesitation
slaking my thirst
my need until I
step away and find
my mouth dry
my soul empty
my heart in ribbons
my body aching
all the while wondering
if yours is the only well
that will ever quench
this ebb and flow...
