Fireside Dreams
by A.J.Heard

Lying on the rug, before the fire
in the strange house, she dreams . . .

She stirs from the feel of the cold air
running along the floor
murmuring in her sleep his name, in question
a streak of heat followed by tightened muscles
before she relaxes back into sleep.

Stealthy footsteps barely heard penetrate little
body presence registers deep
cold fingertips lightly graze her cheek.

Tipping her head back she exposes her neck
with imagined kisses like butterfly feet waltzing
down the blue vein to the pulse at the base of her throat.

Syrupy like juices start to bubble and flow.
Thighs part like languid petals in a slow River.
Breasts awake all sensations distilled.

The feel of another's flesh
warm and dry smoothing her skin
prickling a trail along flank and stomach,
she scoots closer into the span of him
no hesitation with ease and familiarity

Mouth to mouth
questions asked answers received
no longer sleeping she calls his name.
